Frequently Asked ?s

Some questions that we get asked a lot & some that we would like to ask for the class.

How specific should my requests be?

We want to have a pretty clear understanding of your vision, and visual inspiration helps most! A couple of Shutterstock images and a uniform sketch will carry you a long way. Our unique style and approach to design is one of our strengths, though, so no need to plan out the small details - we've always done our best work when there's a little room to creatively wiggle!

How do we get started?

Send us an e-mail with some information about what you're looking to have designed, or head over to our design request form which will ask you virtually everything we'd need to know to get get your project moving forward quickly! Wherever you are in your process, we'll be happy to discuss ideas, options, and how we might be able to help.

Do you have a specific printer for flags, props, etc?

Yes! We partner with Band Today and offer the highest quality flag, vinyl, and uniform printing through them with a streamlined, all-in-one payment process for paying your design fees and ordering your items.

We do accept projects printing through other vendors and give them the same care and attention but may not be able to guarantee quick turnarounds or availability during peak design periods.

What am I allowed to use my designs for?

All of our pageantry design services cover a one-time print license of your flags, props, or other images. Just let us know if you're interested in additional uses or licenses and we're happy to talk you through the process and costs!

What programs do you use to design?

The entire adobe suite, but mostly Illustrator and Photoshop. Most of our pageantry designs are photo compositions where we combine, blend, and manipulate many images to create an entirely new piece of art, with some Illustrator for type and shapes here and there.

How much do your design services cost?

Not all projects are made the same and some require more time and resources than others, so we provide an estimate for every project based on its individual needs and timeline! If you're interested in an estimate for your designs, please feel free to contact us or complete our design form.

What's your favorite thing to design?

As far as pageantry-specific designs go: definitely show announcements. One of the dreams I'm keeping in my back pocket is to become a movie poster designer for Marvel, and that's about as close as it gets so far. Otherwise, I absolutely love web design and development and would happily do it every day.

How did you end up becoming a graphic designer?

By total chance and a cosmic alignment of interests. I began learning Photoshop in middle school while spending a lot of time on video game forums and chat rooms. There were contests and showcases for making little graphic "signatures" that you'd put at the end of your forum posts, and I was immediately so drawn to it.
